Section 1: Introduction

Hello, and welcome to my Final Fantasy Legend 1 walkthrough. Thanks for looking in.

I guess the first thing to note is, if one was unaware, is, yes, this isn't a "real" Final Fantasy game. Its name in Japan is "MakaiToushi SaGa" (which definitely doesn't translate to anything to do with Final Fantasy). It also has two followups for Gameboy, Final Fantasy Legend 2 and 3 (which, again, aren't "real" Final Fantasy games). On the other hand, who cares what they're called or what they're considered, it's a fun game, and that's the only thing that matters.

Notes about this walkthrough. The section headings are written the same in the table of contents as they are in the walkthrough, so, you can just search for the phrase (that is, search for "3.05: Castle of Shield" or something), and you'll be able to jump right to the section. Everything's broken down pretty well, so, you should be able to find what you're looking for fairly easily.

I don't want to say this walkthrough is spoiler-free, because it isn't, it does contain spoilers of sorts, depending on what one considers a spoiler. On the other hand, I've done my best not to mention story points unless it's critical to advancing. That is, I'll tell you that, for instance, you'll "walk forward and talk to a girl," but won't really say who or what she's telling you unless it's needed for you to advance. This walkthrough is a guide to help you find your way along, not tell you everything that's happening (so if you're hoping to just skip to the end and find out about the last boss and the ending, you're not going to find it). So, as I said, it's not spoiler-free, but, I've done my best to keep it to a minimum.

That said, go out there and explore, and thanks for stopping by here when you get stuck or need some help.

===============================================================================

3.01: Starting out (World 1, Floor 1)

Upon starting up a new game, you will first be presented with the story:

---

It has been said
that the tower in
the center of the
World is connected
to Paradise.
Dreaming of a life
in Paradise,
many have challenged
the secret of the
tower,
but no one knows
what became of them.
Now,
there is another who
will brave the
adventure

---

From there, you're presented with the first character creation screen. Your choices are:

1: Human (M)
2: Human (F)
3: Mutant (M)
4: Mutant (F)
5: Clipper
6: Redbull
7: Wererat
8: Zombie

Pick your first character, and name it (4 characters max for name) and press Start.

After finishing that, your character is placed on the outskirts of a tower. From there, head north and up the staircase into the inn. Then, go to the counter on the right and talk to the man. The Guild menu will open up, and your character list will appear with a hand pointing at the character you created. Here, you can make 3 more characters for your party. So, move the hand down to one of the empty spots on the list and press A to open up the character creation list again. Make another character as you did the first time. Do this twice more to complete your group of four.

Now, you can take some time to explore the town, Base Town, if you want. The counter next to the guild is the Inn counter. Obviously you don't need an inn now, but, once you've gone outside and had some battles and lost health, you can go to the inn to regain health. The cost of staying at the inn is 1GP per unit of health being healed (that is, if the four of your characters added together have lost, say, 35 cumulative HPs, the cost of staying at the inn will be 35GP).

To the right of the guild counter, you'll see a bridge leading to a door. Going up to it, you'll find out that the door is "locked by magic of black". Unlocking this door is your main task in this area, but, you won't be getting to that for a while.

To the right and up from that door is a counter with two people behind it, selling weapons and items. At the weapon shop here, for sale is:

Long(Sword): 50: 132GP
Axe: 50: 412GP
Rapier: 50: 24GP
Gold(Gauntlet): 150GP
Gold(Armor): 300GP
Ice(Spell): 20: 500GP
Elec(Spell): 20: 500GP

At the item shop, for sale is:

Strong: 1: 300GP
Agility: 1: 300GP
HP200: 1: 100
Potion: 3: 50GP
XPotion: 3: 200GP
Antidote: 3: 100GP
Eyedrop: 3: 500GP
Revive: 1: 15000GP
(Heart): 1: 10000GP
Rod: 30: 1000GP

Again, obviously you have no money now so you can't buy any of this, but, it's there for you to come back to later.

Also, behind the building, on the left side and out back is a person standing by a wall. Talking to them will bring up the House of Life menu. Here, you can revive dead party members for 100GP. Be careful though, because each time you revive someone it uses up one of their hearts, and once they're out of hearts they can't be revived again. You can buy hearts at shops, but, they're very expensive. Best to avoid dying of course, but, if you need it, it's there.

The last thing of note in the town is, in the back of the inn by the beds is a person wandering around. Talk to him, and he'll tell you "Gen-Bu has hidden the key to the door in the Statue of Hero." Sounds like a good hint.

Once you're done exploring the town, walk to the outside edge and out onto the gravel area to exit the town.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.02: Town of Hero

Now you'll find yourself outside on the world map. Here, as you walk around you'll randomly encounter enemies. So, be careful of battles and keep your eye on your health.

From here, walk to the east and then north to find a bridge across the water. Then, walk south, around the mountains, and east and south. Then, enter the Town of Hero.

Walk north and across the bridge, and you'll see the statue that was mentioned earlier. Pressing A in front of it will let you know that something is missing from the statue. More specifically, three things are missing from the statue. You'll be going to track them down shortly.

To the west of the town entrance is the inn. To the east is the House of Life. To the north you'll find a building with three doors. The left door has a room with some people inside. In the middle door is an item shop. Here you can buy:

Strong: 1: 300GP
Agility: 1: 300GP
HP200: 1: 100GP
Potion: 3: 50GP
XPotion: 3: 200GP
Bell: 3: 100GP
Shocker: 3: 100GP
(Heart): 1: 10000GP

In the right door is a weapon shop. Here, you can buy:

Hammer: 50: 25GP
Rapier: 50: 24GP
Bow: 50: 50GP
Whip: 50: 80GP
Punch: 99: 500GP
Bronze(Helmet): 40GP
Bronze(Armor): 80GP
Bronze(Gauntlet): 12GP
Sleep(Spell): 20: 500GP
Fire(Spell): 20: 500GP

Once you've finished talking to everyone, head outside of the town.

Now, from here there are three places you need to go. You can do the first two in any order though, it's up to you. The third one has to wait until last however.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.03: Castle of Sword

From the town of Hero, head to the west, along the edge of the mountains, until you come to a path of trees through the mountains. Go through the path, down, across a bridge, along the path and to another bridge, up through a grassy area, to the Castle of Sword.

In here, you'll want to avoid talking to anyone you come across, since they're all enemies that will attack you. From the entrance, take the path on the left. When you come to a split in the path, go across to the other path and then continue up and along the path. At the next split go south, around the wall to the stairs, and up the stairs.

On the second floor, walk north out of the walled area. From there, go around the side and down, to the bottom of the area, and another staircase. On the third floor, head up, and you'll come to the King of the Sword Castle. Talk to him to fight him.

Once you've defeated him, you'll get 240GP. You'll also win the King(Sword). You can equip this on one of your characters and use it as a weapon. The best part is, unlike most other weapons which have a limited number of uses, the King(Sword) can be used an unlimited number of times.

Now, from here head back down and out of the castle, and make your way back to the town of Hero.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.04: Castle of Armor

From the town of Hero, head northeast, through the forest, around the mountains on the top, then back to the west, up and across the bridge over the river. Go east, to the Castle of Armor.

Inside of the castle are some people walking around, who tell you that the king wants to speak to you on the second floor. So, go up, through the castle, across the bridge, and up the stairs to the second floor. Follow the path around, to a door. In this room is the king. He'll tell you that he's in love, but that the woman needs some help. So, you offer to help out. Now, walk back outside of the castle.

Go back to the west and across the bridge. Go east, and then south through the forest, to a series of rivers with bridges across them. Head over the bridges, and you'll come to a town. Here, you can heal at the inn, and talk with the people to get some information. There's also some stores at the north of the town. The first one sells:

Hammer: 50: 25GP
Rapier: 50: 24GP
Long(Sword): 50: 132GP
Kick: 88: 1100GP
Bronze(Shield): 50: 40GP
Bronze(Gauntlet): 12GP
Bronze(Helmet): 40GP
Bronze(Armor): 80GP
Fire(Spell): 20: 500GP
Ice(Spell): 20: 500GP

The shop to the left sells:

Strong: 1: 300GP
Agility: 1: 300GP
HP200: 1: 100GP
Potion: 3: 50GP
XPotion: 3: 200GP
Needle: 3: 500GP
Symbol: 3: 500GP
Eyedrop: 3: 500GP
Revive: 1: 15000GP
(Heart): 1: 10000GP

At the back of the town is a House of Life. Also in the back is the girl that the king wants to marry. Talk to her, and she'll tell you that the reason she can't marry the king is because a bandit is threatening to destroy the village unless she marries him. So, now you're off to defeat the bandit.

Leave the town, go down across the bridges, to the west and around the mountains, and up to a cave. In here, don't talk to anyone, because they'll attack you if you do. From the entrance, go east, around the stairs and up, and around the wall to the east. Go south, along the path to a staircase. Go up it to the next floor.

Go west to the wall, and then south to a door. Go through the door, and then follow the path to the west and up, where you'll find the bandit. Talk to him to fight him.

After defeating him, you'll get 120GP. Now, walk back through the cave and outside. Head back to the town and talk to the woman again, she'll say she's very happy now.

Head back north, to the Castle of Armor, and talk to the king again. He will thank you, and give you the King(Armor). Now, head outside and make your way back to the town of Hero.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.05: Castle of Shield

The Castle of Shield is directly to the right of the town of Hero, in the forest.

If you'd came here before doing the other two castles, you would've noticed that all the guards told you to go away, and that the king and his steward weren't willing at all to give up the Shield.

Go to the left and up the stairs. Walk forward, and then you'll automatically walk forward to the king's throne, where he is lying dead with the steward standing next to him. He'll tell you that he is going to frame you for the king's murder. You'll then enter into battle with the steward. After defeating him, you'll see him run into the wall, two spaces to the right of the throne. Follow him through the wall, to the back of the castle. Go around the wall and up the stairs. Here, you'll find the steward again. Go over and talk to him to fight him again. You'll get 400GP and the King(Shield) when you defeat him. Exit through the back wall to leave the castle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.06: Town of Hero/Base Town

If you want to, you can spend some time killing enemies with your new weapon and armor, since when you decide to move on to the next step you'll be losing them all.

Now, go to the town of Hero, and unequip all of the King items (and make sure you equip other items in their place of course). Now, go to the statue in the middle of the town, stand in front of it, and select the King items from your inventory menu. As you select them, you'll put them onto the statue. Once all the pieces are placed on the statue, you'll get the Black Sphere. Start to walk away, and Gen-Bu will come out and you'll have to fight him. When you defeat him, you will win 900GP.

Now, make your way over to Base Town. Go up the stairs, and over to the locked door across the bridge. From your Item menu, select the Sphere option. Then, use the first sphere in the box. Exit out of the menu, and you can now walk through the door in front of you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.07: Up the Tower (World 1 to 2)

You're now inside of the tower, on the 1st floor (your floor position is listed in your pause menu). Continue up the stairs and through the next door, and the 2nd floor. Walk south, and then turn west and follow the path to another door. Go up the stairs, to floor 3. Go west, and you'll see a door and some stairs up.

Inside of the door, if you want to go exploring, is a small world. There's a little spot of water in the bottom right which will heal you, and a town in the top right with some people you can talk to. There's nothing you need to do here, so, once you're done exploring, you can return to the tower. Go up the stairs, the west and through the door. Go up the stairs to floor 4. Go north, west at the first opening, around the wall, to an intersection.

Again not necessary, but if you want to do some more exploring, continue west to the end of the path and then south down the stairs to a door. Inside of this door is another side area with some people you can talk to, as well as some monsters who if you try to talk to them will fight you. Once you're done here, return to the intersection this path split off of.

Head north, to the door. Here, from the stairs, walk over to the area on the left to find a treasure chest with a Colt inside. Then, continue up the stairs, to floor 5. Head south, and you'll find a door, locked by the magic of blue. This is the door in this area you'll need to open to progress to the next area. In the southwest corner is a pool that will heal you. Head north and you'll run into a man, who will give you some information about what to do next. Continue north, through the door, and out into the next world.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.08: Port Town (World 2, Floor 5) Walk east from the tower, and in the south part of the island you'll find a town.

Explore the town, talk to the people, and gather information. Here, you'll find out where to go next and what you need to do to move on, as well as other useful things.

Across the top of the town is the inn, a house of life, and a guild. There will be guilds you'll come across from time to time, like the one you initially created your party. You'll only need to use them when your characters have died and run out of hearts to be revived with.

At the bottom of the town is an item shop and a weapon shop. The item shop sells:

Strong: 1: 300GP
Agility: 1: 300GP
HP200: 1: 100GP
HP400: 1: 1000GP
Potion: 3: 50GP
XPotion: 3: 200GP
Bell: 3: 100GP
Needle: 3: 500GP
Eyedrop: 3: 500GP
(Heart): 1: 10000GP

The weapon shop sells:

Axe: 50: 412GP
Battle(Sword): 50: 989GP
SMG: 20: 400GP
Colt: 30: 80GP
Gold(Shield): 50: 400GP
Gold(Helmet): 175GP
Bronze(Armor): 80GP
Elec(Spell): 20: 500GP
Fog(Spell): 20: 500GP
Rod: 30: 1000GP

Once you're done exploring the town and gathering information, exit to continue with your journey.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.09: Caves

From the town, walk north to find a cave entrance. Inside, head off the stairs and west. Go north to the end of the path, and then east to an intersection. At the intersection, go north to the end of the path. Go east, past the first door, to another door. Go through the door and you'll come out on land.

Go to the cave on the other side of the island to enter the caves again. Here, go down the stairs and then go west, north along the path and follow it east. Continue east through the intersection, and then take the south path leading east at the next intersection. Continue east past the next intersection, and then follow the path north, to a door exiting the caves.

Here, you'll find yourself on land again. On the left side of the land you'll see two small islands attached to the edge of the land. Go over to the top one on the left and walk onto it. You'll disappear inside of the island, which starts floating. You can now use the island to sail over the water.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.10: East Island Village

Well, now you have the entire ocean to explore as you wish. Your first stop should probably be a village to do some item buying and such. So, go north until you come to the end of the ocean (nothing interesting there, just a wavy wall which won't let you go further). From there, go east until you come to a big island. Go to the edge and press A to get off of your floating island. On the bottom of the island is the town.

Again, go around talking to the people in the town to find out some information (although don't pay attention to the guy who tells you not to visit the old man on an island, you will want to be doing that). Again, there's an inn and a house of life here if you need it. As well, there's an item shop and a weapon shop. The item shop sells:

Punch: 99: 500GP
Kick: 88: 1100GP
Butt: 66: 2100GP
X-Kick: 44: 4100GP
Judo: 22: 8100GP
Karate: 11: 15100GP
Counter: 20: 5100GP
Tempter: 30: 5100GP

The weapon shop sells:

Battle(Sword): 50: 989GP
Katana(Sword): 50: 2060GP
Saber: 50: 2060GP
Silver(Helmet): 600GP
Silver(Armor): 2500GP
Fog(Spell): 20: 500GP
Wand: 30: 750GP
Rock: 16: 100GP
Gold(Helmet): 175GP
Long(Sword): 50: 132GP

Once you're done equipping yourself and gathering information, leave the town and return to your floating island to continue.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.11: South Island

You don't really need to do this step if you don't want to, it will just give you some information that you could find out by just skipping to the next step of this walkthrough. If you want to find it out on your own follow this step. If not, just skip over to the next section.

Well, that old man the guy in the previous town told you not to see, you'll be going to see him now. From the East Island Village, get back on your floating island and head directly south along the east side of the map. Eventually, you'll come to a small island with a hut on it. Get off of your island and go into the hut.

Walk along the path, past the first intersection, to the second one. Here, walk north, past the first intersection to the second one. Here, walk west to the end of the path. Then, go north to find the old man. Talk to him to find out about the airseed. Then, make your way back outside.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.12: Airseed/Underwater Town

Head south, down to the very south end of the map, to an island with a number of palm trees on it. Stand next to (not on, just next to) the palm tree in the middle, and, facing it, press A. You'll get the Airseed. (You can actually keep doing that to get more, but, you only need one).

Now, head back to the north, past the South Island, back up to the East Island. From the bottom of the island, head west. Eventually, you'll come to a whirlpool in the middle of the ocean. Move onto it and you'll be taken underwater. Press A to get off of your island, onto the land. Walk off the deck, and then go south around the edge of the ocean and then go east. At the end, you'll find a town. It's also worth noting quickly that you don't need your Airseed anymore, so, you can just throw it away to free up space in your inventory.

Here, again, you'll find your usual assortment of people with helpful information, an inn and a house of life, and a weapon shop. The weapon shop sells:

Katana(Sword): 50: 2060GP
Coral(Sword): 50: 9880GP
Saber: 50: 2060GP
Silver(Shield): 50: 4000GP
Silver(Gauntlet): 500GP
Book: 20: 500GP
Sleep(Spell): 20: 500GP
Cure: 30: 1000GP

Once you're done in the town, make your way back outside.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.13: Caves/Sea Palace

From the town, head south to find a stairway. Go onto it to enter the caves. Go east (ignoring the path to the south of the entrance), to another path leading south. Follow this path around to come to some stairs. Then, walk east to find a number of paths leading north. Take the fourth path from the right, to a stairway leading up to the ground. From there, head south and you'll come to the Sea Palace.

All of the creatures in here are enemies, so, you'll want to avoid them. Go east and you'll see a stairway. Head past it for now, and continue to the end of the path and a door. Go in it and down the path to find a treasure chest with a Bluekey in it. Then, go back out and down the path, to the stairs.

Go north, and then west down the path. At the end is a door you can get into using the Bluekey, but, there's nothing inside. Go south, over the bridge, and continue south and then east along the path to some stairs.

If you want, follow the twisting path going to the north, and at the end is a door. Go through it using the Bluekey, and inside are three treasure chests. Inside of them are Silver(Armor), Grenade and Cure(Spell). Then, exit the room and go back along the path to the south, and at the end is a stairway.

Go along the path, around to the other side of the water and a door, and enter using the Bluekey.

Inside, walk north. As you go north, you'll see two rows of crystals, one horizontal and one veritical. Pay attention to where they are in relation to the room (or don't and I'll just tell you what you need to know). At the top is a room full of orbs. Pressing A in front of a "fake orb" will cause you to battle an Atomcrab. Here, stand next to the orb three from the top and three to the right (you know, where the two lines of orbs from the previous rooms would intersect), and, facing that orb, press A to get the Red Orb. You'll then enter into battle with Sei-Ryu. You'll get 4800GP when you defeat him. After the battle, look at that orb again and press A to be transported to where you first entered this area at the whirlpool (or you could walk back if you wanted, but, obviously that would take longer).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.14: South Island/Tower

Head East until you come to the East Island, and then go south to the South Island. Follow the directions from Section 3.11 to get to the old man if you need help. Once you get there, he'll ask you a riddle. He'll give you some items, and ask what item you could buy for the price of the items he listed. The riddle is random, but the answer will be either a Battle(Sword), Rock or Needle. Go back to the East Island Village and buy the item you need, and then bring it to him. Bring it to him and talk to him again, and if you got the right item he'll reward you by giving you the Blueorb. Now, use either the Redorb or the Blueorb from your inventory, and they'll combine to give you the Blue Sphere.

Now, head back to the southwest corner of the ocean, back to to the tower. Go to the southeast corner of the room, where you'll find the locked door.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.15: Up the Tower (World 2 to 3)

Head up the stairs, to floor 6. Go east, south, then west to a door. Go up the stairs, to floor 7.

Again, this sidepath isn't necessary, but it's fun. From the door, take either of the paths leading north, and you'll come to a door. Go in and you'll be on an island in the middle of the water, but, you can walk in the water. Go north, through the water, to some grass, and a row of fish statues. Stand on any of the statues and press A. Some will give you little messages. Others will give you an XPotion. The ones that give you an XPotion you can press A twice more to get 2 more XPotions, but if you press A again you'll be attacked. Once you're done, leave the area and go back to the tower.

From the entrance door, walk west to a door and in. Go up the stairs, to floor 8. Go east, and on the east wall is a pool of water to heal you. Go back west and up the stairs, past another pool, and then east. Go south and continue south at the split to a door on the east, and into the door. Go up the stairs, to floor 9.

Go north, and at the north wall is a door. Inside is a big room, with people in beds. There's also a person acting as a house of life and another as an inn. Talk to the people and heal, and when you're done go back through the door.

Go south back to where the entrance door was, then south and down the west path. Continue past the first split, to the second split going north. Take the north path, leading to a door. The room on the west has a treasure chest with a P-Knife in it. Continue up the stairs, to floor 10. Go south, and then east. Talk to the person standing there, and then continue east. Up the small stairway to the north is a door locked by the magic of White. Continue east past that stairway to a wider stairway. Go north, up the stairs, to a door, and out into the next world.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.16: Sky Town (World 3, Floor 10)

When you exit the tower, you'll find yourself on a cloud surrounded by sky. Go west from the tower, and enter Sky Town.

Here, as usual, heal if you need to, talk to people (there's one thing inparticular to do that I'll get to in a moment), and stop by the shops. The item shop sells:

Strong: 1: 300GP
Agility: 1: 300GP
HP400: 1: 1000GP

After you win, they'll ask if you'd like to join Byak-Ko. You'll agree, figuring something good will come of it. You'll then see yourself talking to Byak-Ko, who will ask you to bring him a person named Jeanne. After that, you'll be on the base of a dock, with a craft below you. Above you is Byak-Ko's fortress, but, there's not really anything for you to do here now, so, just step onto the craft and fly forward to depart.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.17: Hidden Town

From where you exit the castle, fly east until you see the tower you entered this world from. Then, fly north until you see a small island, 4 spaces big, of clouds. Fly into the bottom left square to enter a secret town. Disembark from your ship to explore the town.

Go around talking to the people to get more information, and rest or use the house of life if you need to. The item shop here sells:

Once you're done here, you can exit again.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.18: Resistance Base

From the hidden town, fly west until you see land. From there, fly south, around the trees, and a bit to the east you'll see a town in the trees. Press A to get out of your craft, and enter the base.

Walk over to the bottom right corner of the room to see three monsters cornering a girl. Go over and talk to one of them. They're Byak-Ko's workers (as you supposedly are as well), and they'll tell you that they have the situation under control. Of course, that's not really what you want, so, you enter a fight with them. After you take care of them, go over and talk to the girl. She'll tell you that her sister is captured in the flying castle, and ask you to save her.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.19: Flying Castle

Exit the base and get back in your craft. Go south, to the Flying Castle. Get out of your craft and walk to the castle to enter it.

From the entrance, walk north up the ladder. Go east, and up the three stairways, to a door. Go into the door, down the stairs, and east across the platform, to another door. From there, go down the two stairways, to another door. Walk down and to the east, up the stairs, to another door. Go up the stairs and to the east, to a stairway leading down. Go into it and walk across the platform to the east, to a door. Go up the stairs, east, and up two more stairways, to a door. Go into the door, to find Byak-Ko's room. He's not in it, so walk over and get the Whitkey from the treasure chest. Go back out the door, up the stairs, and east across the long passageway, up the stairs, to a door. You'll use the key and walk inside. Go forward and you'll find some monsters guarding a girl. Go talk to one of them to enter a fight.

After you win, go over and talk to the girl. She'll thank you for saving her, but just then, Byak-Ko will appear. Apparently, Mileille is working with Byak- Ko, and tricked you into getting captured. From there, you'll be tossed into a jail cell.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.20: Jail

Talk to the other people inside of your jail cell, and they'll tell you that they couldn't find a way out. Go over to the jail bars and press A, and you'll bend the bars and break your way out. Walk to the east, and in the second cell over from yours you'll see a sword sitting in front of the bars. Press A in front of it, and the sword will ask you to take it, which you do, so you get the sword Revenge.

Continue along the path, and you'll come to a guard at the end. Talk to him to fight him, and once you beat him, you can go up the stairs. From here, take the path west and follow it up to a stairway. Go through the door to the north, and follow along the path, to five people guarding a treasure chest. Talk to them to fight them, and once you beat them open the treasure chest to get the JailKey.

If you want, although not necessary, now that you have the key, you can go back to the previous floor to get an item. If you want, go back down the path and out of the door, and back down the stairs. Go back down the path, and when you come to the intersection with the stairs, continue past them to the east, and a door. You'll use the key to open the door and go in. Inside are 6 treasure chests, containing: L-Saber, Giant(Gauntlet), Death(Spell), Revive, Elixer and XPotion. Once you're done, go back to the room where you got the JailKey.

Now, go through the door on the north wall using the JailKey to find three gliders. The two on the left won't start, but the one on the right will. Take it and fly forward, down the ramp, to leave.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.21: Resistance Base/Flying Castle/Tower

Fly north and a bit east, to the Resistance Base. You'll notice the Flying Castle right next to it. Get out of your craft and enter the Resistance Base. You'll find that Jeanne has been taken. Then, exit the Resistance Base and go enter the Flying Castle. After you enter, exit back out again. You'll notice that the castle has moved. Enter it again and you'll automatically walk forward, where you'll see a scene involving Byak-Ko, Mileille and Jeanne. After it's done, you'll enter battle with Byak-Ko. You'll win 5500GP when you defeat him.

After you win, Byak-Ko will disappear with the sphere. Don't worry, you'll get the sphere right away anyway (you'll just have to watch how). After you're done, exit the castle and get back on your craft.

Fly south to the bottom of the world, and then east to the tower. Get out of your craft and walk into the tower. Walk south, down the stairs, west, north, and up the stairs to a locked door. Use the White Sphere to open the door, and enter the tower.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.22: Up the Tower (World 3 to 4)

Head up the stairs, through the door, to floor 11. In the northwest part of the room is a pool to heal you. From there, walk south, east, and down the stairs. At the split go west, and then north up some more stairs, to a door. Go through the door to some more stairs. Go up, through the door, to floor 12. Go east, to a split in the path, and south down the stairs.

Not necessary, but, if you want to do some more exploring, go west at the bottom, to a door, and in. You'll find yourself outside of the tower, on a cloud. This is kind of a tricky area, since the cloud has undercurrents which will force you along at various points. There are treasure chests scattered around the area, which you're trying to make your way to. The first one is, on the top of the cloud, go all the way to the west, and then four spaces to the east from there. Walk south to get to a treasure chest with an Elixer. The next chest is, from the tower, walk south to the southern edge of the clouds. Then, go secen spaces to the east. Then, walk north until the cloud starts carrying you north. While it's moving you, you'll pass a treasure chest. Press A as you pass it to open it (which is rather a pain), and get a Vampic(Sword). To get the last treasure chest, go to the south edge of the cloud, and then make your way to the southwest corner. From the top part of the southwest corner, go 15 spaces north. From there, walk east to find a treasure chest with a Potion. That's all for this area, so, now make your way back to the tower entrance.

Now, from the stairs go east, past a pool, and then north up the stairs, to a door. Inside, go to the room on the west to find a treasure chest with a Saw inside. Then, continue north up the stairs, to floor 13. Go all the way west and up the stairway to find a door to a sideworld, with some people walking around saying that they're thirsty. Leave, go back down the stairs, east past one stairway and up the next stairway to a door. Go to the space on the west to find a treasure chest with an Army(Helmet) in it. Continue up the stairs, through the door, to floor 14. From the door, go west to a split. Go south, down the stairs, to another split.

Again not necessary, but very profitable. Go south from the split, and through the door on the east. You'll find yourself in a sideworld flooded with water. Talk to the people to hear about their problems. Then, go south, to the spot that looks like a whirlpool. Step onto it, and you'll fall down, to floor 13, to the sideworld mentioned shortly before which wanted water, which now has water. Now, exit through the tower, go east past one stairway to another, and north up the stairs through a door. Go north, up the stairs, back up to floor 14. Go west, south down the stairs, continue south, and through the door on the east. You're now in the world which was flooded with water before, which is now a forest. Talk to the people, and then go south to a castle. Inside are four treasure chests, with: P-Sword, Elixer, XPotion, and Revive. Now, go south out of the castle, north back to the tower, and then west and north to the path split where this section took off from.

Go west at the split, and then south at the next split. Go south and west to the door. Go up the stairs, to floor 15. Walk east, to the east wall and continue on the path north. Go up the stairs and north to a door. Go up the stairs, through the door, to floor 16. To the south is a person who you can talk to, to get some information to help you in this next world. Then, go through the door to the east of the one you came through, out into the next world.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.23: Tunnels (World 4, Floor 16)

In this world, if you walk around aboveground, you'll come across Su-Zaku. You can't kill him right now, your only choice is to run away. From the tower, go to the building just to the northwest, leading underground. Go south, and at the bottom of the stairs a girl will tell you to follow her and run off to the west. Go west, and at the end of the path south down the stairs. Go west, to the end of the path, where the girl will stop you again and tell you to follow her. Go back to the east, and south down the stairs. When you come out, you'll see the girl being attacked on the west. Go south and you'll automatically run over to help her, and enter battle. After you save her, she'll thank you, and tell you there's a town ahead, and run away. Go west, and then north up the stairs, and you'll come out by a town. Go west and enter the town.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.24: Southwest Town

The building on the left when you enter the town is the inn. The building straight ahead has the guild on the bottom floor, and an item shop and weapon shop on the top floor. The weapon shop sells:

Needle: 3: 500GP
Elixer: 3: 10000GP
(Heart): 1: 1000GP

Once you're done shopping, go to the northeast side of town. You'll see a building with a bike out front. Go inside the building and you'll automatically walk over and talk to a person at the back. After you're done talking, you'll be able to use the bike outside. Go outside and step onto the bike to get on it. Using the bike, you won't run into Su-Zaku as much outside (which is definitely a good thing). Then, leave the town and go outside.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.25: Library

Go into the tunnel to the northeast of the town. Go west and north along the path to come to some tracks. Go east on the tracks, and then north at the split and up the stairs, back above ground. Go to the tunnel to the southeast, back underground. Go east along the tracks and south down any of the paths. Continue east along the tracks, and then north up the stairs. Go east, press A to get off your bike, and enter the Library.

Go east along the wall until you come to an opening. Go north and up the stairs to the next floor. Walk west, between the top rows of bookshelves. Your characters will automatically walk along the bookshelf and find the book telling the location of Akiba. If you turn around and press A, you'll find a Stone(Spell) hidden in the shelf. Now, go back down the stairs and exit the library.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.26: Akiba/Northeast Town

From the spot where the library is, go 14 spaces east and 15 spaces north. When you move on top of it, you'll automatically enter Akiba.

Here, there are four buildings with treasure chests. The one you need to get is in the bottom right building, the ROM. The bottom left building has a Revive, the top right building has a Catcraw, and the top left building has an XPotion.

After leaving Akiba, go north and you'll see a town on the east. The person to the north when you enter the town is an item shop, which sells:

Strong: 1: 300GP
Agility: 1: 300GP
HP400: 1: 1000GP
HP600: 1: 5000GP
XPotion: 3: 200GP
Shocker: 3: 100GP
Eyedrop: 3: 500GP
Needle: 3: 500GP
Elixer: 3: 10000GP
(Heart): 1: 10000GP

The person in the 2nd room to the south is a weapon shop, which sells:

Dragon(Sword): 50: 34600GP
Ice(Sword): 50: 23880GP
Elec(Sword): 50: 24700GP
Catcraw: 50: 23200GP
P-Sword: 50: 32000GP
Hyper: 3100000GP
Ice(Shield): 50: 6000GP Geta(Shoe): 5000GP
Stone(Spell): 20: 5000GP
Death(Spell): 20: 5000GP

The person in the 3rd room on the north is a house of life. The one in the 4th room on the south is an inn. The one in the 5th room on the north is the guild. The one in the 6th room on the south is another item shop, which sells:

Antidote: 3: 100GP
Pan: 3: 100GP
Symbol: 3: 500GP
Revive: 1: 15000GP
Bell: 3: 100GP
HP200: 1: 100GP
Rod: 30: 1000GP
Elec(Spell): 20: 500GP
Fire(Spell): 20: 500GP
X-Kick: 44: 4100GP

Once you're done, go to the 3rd room on the north, and there is an opening on the back wall. Go through the opening, and go east to find another person. Talk to him, and he'll give you the Board. You can now leave the town (don't forget your bike).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.27: Southwest Town/Tunnel

After finishing up in Northeast Town, make your way back to Southwest Town (to the southwest, needless to say). Go to the pub, and talk to So-Cho, who will tell you his plan, and you'll go to bed. The next day, get up and leave thr room. You'll try to leave the town by yourself, but will be stopped. After finishing that, you'll be outside the town.

Go east, into the tunnel. Follow the other bike to the east, to meet the other bike again. Get out of your bike and talk to it, and then go back in your bike and follow it across the gap, and continue to the east, and then south down the stairs. Get out and talk to the bike again, and then go east, south, and then east over the water and along the path to the east, south, west and up the stairs, into the power plant.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.28: Power Plant

If you walk or ride off the edge here, you'll return to the entrance. Go north, and around the path to the west, to some stairs, and up. Take the path to the north until you come to a person blocking your path. Get off your bike and talk to it to enter a battle. After winning, get back on your bike and continue along the path, to the stairs. Go along the path to the north and east, and continue south. When you get to the bottom, you'll be stopped by So-Cho. Go over and talk to him. He'll break through to the door, and give you a Band(Helm). After that, save because once you go through the door you won't be able to go back out. Then, get back on your bike and go through the door. Go forward, over the poison floor (you'll lose 3HP every step), to the object at the end. Get off your bike and get the Plutonium. After getting it, you'll enter a battle. After winning, you'll be transported back to Southwest Town.

Enter Southwest town, and you'll find everything has been destroyed (well, except the Inn and House of Life). Go back to the pub to get your bike again, then leave the town. Also worth noting, you now have Erase99. So, you don't need the ROM or Board anymore.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.29: Skyscraper/Tower

On your way to the Skyscraper, outside you'll now run into actual enemies instead of Su-Zaku. Also, the underground tunnel system doesn't work anymore. Go straight north from the town, and on the west you'll see a meteor field. Go over to it, get off your bike, and walk into the middle to find the Skyscraper.

Go north, and at the path split go west, north, and east to a door. Go inside, and then step east to be brought up to another door, and go inside that one. Go south, to a gap in the wall. From the gap, walk 4 spaces east, 5 spaces north, 5 spaces east, 8 spaces south, 5 spaces west, 1 space north, 3 spaces west, and then walk south to a door. Inside is a chest with a Hyper. Now, go back out of the room and to the path. From the last space before the wall, go 5 spaces north, 3 spaces east, 1 space south, 5 spaces east, 3 spaces north, and then walk east out of the wall. Go south to the wall, and then walk west and south out of the wall again. Go east, and through the door. Step to the east to be brought up to another door, and go through it.

Go east, to the second split and then north. At the next split go east to the wall, and then north through a door. Go east to the end of the path and then south through the door. In this room, the floor has spikes that take off 3HP for every step. The room to the southeast has an XPotion if you want it. Then, go to the middle of the room and through the left of the two doors. Step west to be taken down to another door, and go through.

Go south to the wall. Then, go 5 spaces east, 5 spaces north, 3 spaces west, 3 spaces north, 5 spaces west, and then north through the door. Step west to be taken to another door, and then go through it.

Walk 4 spaces south, and then go east through the wall. Go north and through the door. On the west is a treasure chest with an Elixer. Now, go back out of the room, south and back through the wall. Go south, and through the door on the east. Step west to be brought down to another door, and then go through it.

Go east to the wall, and then south and west, continue west at the split until you reach the end, and then go north. At the split go east, to the end, and down some stairs.

Go west and north, to find a train at the end. Walk to the east until you find some open doors, and go inside. Walk west along the train. You'll come across two people along the way. The first one you can talk to, but, the second one is just an enemy. At the end you'll come across two people. Talk to the one in front, and you'll go onto the top of the train, with Su-Zaku. Use the Erase99 from your inventory, and then you'll enter into battle with Su-Zaku (who you can actually defeat now). After the battle, you'll win 6500GP.

Once everything is done happening, you'll get the last sphere, the Red Sphere. Go south and down the stairs, and you'll be outside of the tower. Head back to town if you need to do any restocking. Then, go into the tower.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.30: Up the Tower (World 4 to Top)

Go east, south and west. Walk over the spikes to the door. Use the Red Sphere, and enter the tower. Walk up the steps, to floor 17. Go east, past the first stairs, to the second stairs, and then north up them. Continue up the stairs, to a door, and in. Walk up the steps, through the door, to floor 18. Go east and south, to a door. If you continue west to another door, you'll find some people inside you can talk to. Once you're done with that, go through the first door. Walk to the space on the left to find a treasure chest with a Magnum inside. Then, continue up the stairs, to floor 19. Walk north, to some stairs.

If you want to take a sidetrip from here, go west from the stairs and along the path. Then, go south down some stairs. On the east is a pool to heal at. Then, go west, north, and through the door. Go south, down the stairs, to a room with a person on the ground. Go over and talk to him, to read his diary. After reading it, you'll get the N. Bomb. Now, go back up the stairs, out the door, south and then north up the stairs, east along the path, to where you left off.

Now, go up the stairs, to the door. The room to the west has a treasure chest with an Aezis(Shield) inside. Then, continue up the stairs, to floor 20. Go west, and at the split go south.

Another sidetrip here. Go west and through the door. On the row of bookcases, go to the 7th one from the left, and walk north through the bookcase. Inside is another bookcase. Press A in front of it to get the Flare(Spell). Walk back south through the door. The other bookcases in this room contain some words you can read if you want. Once you're done, go back to the west and through the door, to rejoin the path.

Go east and through the door. Walk north, up the stairs, to floor 21. Go west, to the split, and north and through the door. Go to the southwest, and you'll find a hut in the middle of the flower patch. Inside is a man who will give you the XClbr(Sword). Then, go back to the northwest and back into the tower. Go south to the split and then east and north along the path to a pool where you can heal. Go along the path to the west, to a door and in. The room to the west has a chest with a Glass(Sword). Continue up the stairs, through the door, to floor 22.

Go southeast and talk to the man there. This is your last chance to turn back if you need to do anything. Once you're ready, go to the column next to the man, in the middle, and walk up to be brought up the column, and up to floor 23. Go north, up the stairs, and continue north. When you see a person on the screen in front of you, walk over to the left side of the passage (there's a trap door on the right that will bring you back to the 22nd floor), and go north and talk to him. Once you're done talking, the battle will begin. After you win, you'll get 9999GP.

Continue north, up the stairs, to the door, and... a pitfall!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.31: Base Town (Floor 1)?

Well, that was a long fall, wasn't it?

You can go around and talk to people if you want. In the northeast are the item and weapon shops. The item shop sells:

Strong: 1: 300GP
Agility: 1: 300GP
HP400: 1: 1000GP
HP600: 1: 5000GP
XPotion: 3: 200GP
Door: 3: 5000GP
Symbol: 3: 500GP
Elixer: 3: 10000GP
Arcane: 1: 10000GP
(Heart): 1: 10000GP

The weapon shop sells:

Sun(Sword): 50: 67980GP

Power(Armor): 100000GP
Dragon(Shield): 50: 8000GP
Dragon(Helm): 20000GP
Hermes(Shoe): 8500GP

Once you're done, go over to the door across the bridge. It says it's locked by "magic of 4 color." Use one of your spheres and all four of your spheres will activate and disappear, and the door will unlock. Go through, into the tower.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.32: Tower/End

Walk to the top of the stairs and fight Gen-Bu2. After you win, go through the door. Go east and up the stairs and through the door. Again go east and up the stairs and through the door. Once more, go east and up the stairs and through the door. Go west, up the series of stairs, and at the end you'll run into Sei- Ryu2. Once you defeat him, walk forward to the treasure chest to get Arthur(Armor). Then, go east and through the door. Again, go west, up the series of stairs, and through the door. Do the same thing again, once more, and yet again. Now on a different screen, go east and up the stairs. At the end, you'll run into Byak-Ko2. The treasure chest to the east has (Shoe) in it. Go through the door. Here, go east and up the stairs and through the door again, once more, yet again, one more time, and the last time (yeah, a bit monotonous). Now, go east, up the west set of stairs, and continue north until you come to Su-Zaku2. After defeating him, the treasure chest to the east has a Masamune in it. Go west and through the door. Go east, up the west stairway, west and through the door 5 more times, until you come to a different room.

Now, walk to the east and north to be carried up to the top, and enter the door.

Well, there's no way out now, you're stuck here. Go south, across the bridge, and go north to a river. Follow the river west, until you come to a bridge across the river, and... the final battle.

More stuff will happen now of course, but, that's all for you to find out. You won't find me telling you what it is here. This is the end of the game though, hope you enjoyed it.

===============================================================================

Section 4: Closing Thoughts

Well, that's the end of the game, I hope you enjoyed it.

As far as this walkthrough goes, the actual game walkthrough is complete as of the first submission of the guide. That said, there are other things I could do with this if and when I get to it. One thing that will probably happen is some sort of item list, where to find items, what they do, how much they sell for, and all of that. Another thing that could be done but probably won't is some sort of enemy listing, as well as details on monster transformation. So, that could happen in the future, but, probably not. Who knows though.

In any event though, I hope you found this walkthrough useful. I enjoyed writing it, I've always really loved this game, and am glad there's other people out there who are still interested it as well. So, thanks for stopping by.

===============================================================================

Section 5: Thanks

As of right now, I don't have anyone specific to thank. If you find any errors I've made or any critical information I've left out, feel free to let me know (see Section 6 for contact information).

I'd like to thank Gamefaqs and IGN for hosting this guide, you for reading this guide, and all of the companies involved in the creation of the game for making the game, for providing me years of enjoyment with it and many fond memories.
